The Center da Capricorns: an award-winning idea!

Time has always been relative in Wergenstein. That’s why the metalworker and watchmaker’s association chose this place to set up a holiday home for its workers. That was back in 1933. Today, their holiday home has become the Center da Capricorns – thanks to the Fundaziun Capricorn association. It was founded in 2005 to keep the 1930s hotel in Wergenstein. The aim of the association is the long-term promotion and development of the Schamserberg area and multi-regional co-operation. This quickly proved to be a great idea. A multi-award-winning idea, in fact: it picked up the SAB prize from the Swiss Federation of Mountain Regions in 2008, and took home the Binding Prize for environmental sustainability in 2009.
